Chief Instructor, Captain Bob Schak learned to shoot in the Boy Scouts of America Troop 380 (Austin Town Hall) in 1963 where he earned NRA medals Marksman through Distinguished Expert. He also joined the NRA in 1963 and is a Lifetime Endowment Member. He's an NRA Instructor, Illinois Conceal Carry Instructor and Range Safety Officer. His 60 years of shooting experience makes him a great fit to Our organization. He's also a Lifetime Member of the VFW, The Fort Dearborn Shooting Association (A Pistol Draw Club) and The Illinois State Rifle Association.

Programs
NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Blended Learning
The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting is intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA-affiliation. has two components: a self-study or “eLearning module” which is completed online in your own timeframe and a hands-on practical portion conducted in a classroom and shooting range with one of Our Instructors. The instructor will provide you with a Course Control Code and directions to complete the self-study portion of the course prior to class date. More Details: Course topics include gun safety rules, proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, ammunition knowledge and selection, pistol selection and storage, shooting fundamentals, pistol inspection and maintenance, marksmanship, and shooting range safety. Additionally, students will complete live fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification while on the range with Our NRA Certified Instructor. Students will receive the NRA Guide: Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination and receive a course completion certificate bearing the signature of the NRA Secretary and your NRA Certified Instructor. Cost $150.00. Plus, Ammunition.
Illinois Conceal Carry Certification
Pistol Training Group, LLC is proud to announce that we are approved to teach the Illinois Concealed Carry Class.
There are 2 class options for the Illinois Conceal Carry License (ICCL) required education as follows: First Option If you have had no formal training that is approved by the Illinois State Police you will need to have 16 hours of class time. The cost for this class is $250.00. Please note this cost does not include the range fee or the minimum 50 rounds of ammunition. If you do not own a concealable firearm, we will have one you can use however, the ammunition must be purchased for our firearm at the range. Upon completion of this 2-day 16-hour class you will receive the ICCL Completion Certificate and the NRA Basic Pistol Certificate. By taking the ICCL 16-hour class with us you will qualify for the Illinois CCL. Please note our course fees do not include the licensing fee due to the State of Illinois, currently $150.00.
Second Option If you have been a member of the military or taken an NRA handgun class and have your DD-214 or your NRA certificate then you only need an 8-hour class. The cost for this class is $200.00. Please note the cost does not include the range fee or the minimum 50 rounds of ammunition. If you do not own a concealable firearm, we will have one you can use however, the ammunition must be purchased for our firearm at the range. At the completion of this class, you will receive an ICCL Completion Certificate. The approved NRA classes that qualify you to take just the 8-hour class are: NRA Basic Pistol, NRA Personal Protection Inside the Home, or NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home. You will have to provide us with a photocopy of either the DD-214 or NRA Certificate prior to class.
